Projects

While we are in Malawi there are several projects which we will be involved with.  Here are a few, as explained by Daniel the base leader from YWAM Blantyre.

Refurbishing the Maoni Orphanage

This orphanage houses about 170 orphaned children and feeds another 100 from the local community. The dormitories have fallen into disrepair and the aim if funds are available will be to; fill holes in the walls, paint inside and out and repair door and window frames.

Orphan Feeding and Back to School Project

The flood planes to the south of us have suffered 100% crop failure this year. With support from sponsors food will be distributed to the most desperate orphans.  There are also children here who will not be allowed to attend the free schools because of lack of school uniforms or books; therefore as funds are raised these orphans will be given what they need to get back to school.

Play Ground Project

This last project though maybe the least essential is the one I am most energized about.  This is to provide a play ground for the children at Maoni orphanage. Life in a large orphanage can be barren when play equipment is not available.  With the help of supporters we want to provide a slide, a seesaw, a climbing frame, swings and some football goals for the children.  All the play equipment will be welded from metal so they last a long time and can be enjoyed by many orphans as they come to the orphanage. In my heart I am already seeing the smiling faces of children set free to play.
