Maoni Orphanage - Childrens Activities

We were the first visitors the children at the orphanage had seen for a whole year!  We we're also the first visitors to stay over night which was a big hit with the children, as we got to show them movies and do a praise party for them, which they very, very rarely get to do.  We also enjoyed teaching the children games and songs and doing different drawing activities with them.

New Page!

Check out our new Testimonies Page where we will be adding accounts of what has happened here in Malawi :)  God is doing some amazing things and we want to share them you all.

We are off to Maoni Orphanage tomorrow to stay for three nights.  We're looking forward to seeing the children again and finishing the rooms by painting pictures on the walls and adding bible verses.  We've also got a swing and goal posts to install for the children to play :)

Thank you all for your prayers, the team is now in full health again and ready to get out show God's love again :)

Chikhwawa Outreach

Before this outreach we could tell God was going to do amazing things as there were a lot of opposition coming against us; Charlie, Laura and two others from the base were not well enough to travel and camp in the end, but Gemma, Adi and four others from the base travelled down to Chikhwawa with a tonne of maize to distribute as there has been a 100% crop fail.  They also showed the Jesus Movie at the village where 600+ people came to watch.  Of these 286 (recorded) people made a commitment to follow Christ!  This is amazing as the village is predominantly muslim and many witch doctors work in the area. Also many people were healed with lots of healings of backs and eyes.   Praise God!

Rest Break

We've been on the move doing different projects at several villages since we've arrived here in Malawi, so halve way through we took a break at Lake Malawi.  It was really nice to relax and rest.  We also waved goodbye to Charlotte who was here for two weeks and as we dropped her at the airport we picked up another couple from England who have come over to Malawi for a couple of years.

Lake Malawi
Since coming back to the base late Friday we've been hit with several flu bugs, a few of us have been really sick and others are recovering from sunburn.  So we are all very weary and tired! Hence a short update.

However we are still planning to go to a village tomorrow to distribute maize where they have had 100% crop failure.  Your prayers would be fantastic and much appreciated for us all here. Thank you x

Maoni Orphanage

We spent 4 nights at the Maoni Orphanage here in Blantyre, which was a real treat for the children as they haven't had visitors stay over before.  It was great fun playing with the kids and helping them paint their dorms.  Another missions group painted the girls dorms last year, so we concentrated on the boys dorms.  The rooms were in desperate need of painting! We will post pictures soon.

We also had a lot of fun spending time with the kids and brought frizbees and bubbles for them and did some colouring projects, such as them creating a name design with pictures of what they enjoy doing. We also showed a movie for them which they really enjoyed.  We will be going back to the orphanage next weekend to finish the painting and renovating.

Mulibwangi!

After all arriving safely in Malawi we headed straight on an outreach to the Malawi bush, visiting several villages around Lake Chuita, putting into practice the Chichewa we had learnt prior to leaving.  The Malawi people are very warm and friendly, singing and dancing to welcome us each time we arrived at a new village.

We showed the Jesus movie in two villages and saw a large number of people respond to the gospel message.  We also prayed for the sick each night we showed the movie and many, many people were healed.  One lady had swollen knees and had problems walking, she came forward for prayer but said it was impossible for her to get healed as she had been to doctors and witch-doctors for help but nothing worked.  But God is an expert in the impossible and after praying for her she was completely healed, and even jump up and down! Something which before the movie she wouldn't have dreamed of being able to do.  We saw lots of instant healing from stomach pains, tooth aches, leg pains and sore eyes.

Check out the photo section for pictures from the outreaches.
Tomorrow we are going to the Maoni Orphanage and will stay there for three nights on the base, something no other team has done before, so it will be a real treat for the children also because they have not had any visitors for months.  Here we will start painting the orphanage and spend quality time with the children something money can't buy but is so precious and special for them to receive.  We will update again when we return.

Thanks for all your support and prayers.
Love and Blessings
